Biographical
Jim has over 25 years of experience in mediation and has mediated thousands of cases including tort liability, product liability, workplace disputes, professional malpractice, commercial, employment, and community disputes.

Education
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude from the University of Central Missouri in 1980, his law degree from St. Louis University in 1984, and his LL.M. (Master of Laws) from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2004, where he focused on conflict theory and resolution.
Memberships & Affiliations
Jim's dispute resolution training includes: Basic mediation training (40 hours), CDR Associates, Boulder, CO (1991); Designing Dispute Resolution Systems (32 hours), CDR Associates, Boulder, CO (1995); Advanced Mediation Training, United States Arbitration & Mediation Midwest, St. Louis, MO (1996, 2001, 2002, 2004).
He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches Mediation, Business Negotiation, and Multi-Party and Public Policy Dispute Resolution. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs on dispute resolution and has published articles in local, regional, and national journals.
