The Academy has worked cooperatively with various bodies to ensure that only the most experienced professionals are included in our member roster. Note though that there are no formal certification requirements for the private practice of mediation or arbitration in Missouri.

Missouri Supreme Court - ADR Rules ("Rule 17")

Although Missouri's courts have adopted rules relating to the application of ADR procedures (Rule 17), unlike most other states, it does not maintain a roster of 'approved' or certified mediators/arbitrators, or have an ADR adminstrative office. The majority of substantive civil cases in Missouri are settled by private mediators and arbitrators, many of whom are recognized as top-tier practitioners by the Academy.

Missouri Bar Association, ADR Section

The Bar's ADR Section provides members of the State Bar of Missouri and the general public with creative leadership in the dispute resolution field. The Section fosters diversity in the profession; develops and offers educational programs; promotes access to dispute resolution alternatives; monitors legislative and judicial activity; and provides policy guidance, information, and technical assistance on ethical issues, dispute resolution techniques, and training design. Association of Missouri Mediators

The Association of Missouri Mediators works to enhance the quality and professionalism of mediation in the state of Missouri. The group provides information about resolution of conflict through mediation as a public service to the citizens of Missouri. Established in 1985, USA&M is a client based ADR administrator providing a skilled panel of mediators and arbitrators to the legal, business and insurance community nationwide.
